Upcoming versions of his patch will include native support for xinput (with working triggers) and HD textures support. TR2 has the excellent TR2Main patch by Arsunt that fixes a TONS of things with the game and brings it on par with the PS1 version of the game. Several settings can be tweaked such as draw distance and even water color to match the PS1 version TR1 is better on PC nowadays due to tombati and the possibility of downloading HD texture packs, there's a guide on steam.
